Officejet 4500 printers hit Indian markets, HP calls them doubly smart

HP Officejet 4500 HP who has been rather quiet on the printer front lately is out with a new series of printers.The company has thrown the covers off their Officejet 4500 All-in-One printer series that has two variants – the HP Officejet 4500 Desktop and the network-enabled HP Officejet 4500 printers. The company claims that their compact sizes, energy-efficiency and multi-functionality are well suited to home and small business needs.

These Energy Star-certified printers are built to serve customer preferences based on mono and color printing needs. They are claimed to render lower cost per page apart from delivering owners print, scan, copy and fax multi-functionality. The flatbed all-in-one models are designed with in-built fax and the HP Smart Web Printing allows users to control and select what they want to print from the web. The Best Choice Portfolio of customized cartridges are specially crafted to aid HP’s inkjet printers in gutting down on hidden printing costs.

“Our aim is to increase penetration of ink, and empower users by providing increased task efficiency, and reduced cost per page, thereby helping them stay on task at work or home. According to IDC, HP is the market leader in the inkjet segment; our current market share in the inkjet all-in-one segment is 73 percent. This shows the loyalty of our customers,” cited Rajkumar Rishi, Director – Inkjet and Web Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, HP India. “The OJ 4500 series is designed to fulfill the imaging and printing needs of customers, and help them have access to affordable technical expertise. We also have exciting deals on consumables.”

The device is capable of scanning documents at around 1200 x 2400 dpi and saves them directly onto a PC, e-mail, network folder, PowerPoint or Word file. It offers approximately 33.6KB/s of faxing speed and 100 pages of fax memory. Faxes may be sent from a desktop, while incoming faxes may be stored and archived directly to a PC. With the integrated Hi-sped USB 2.0 port, the printer can be connected directly to a PC and fast-drying documents are reproduced with papers incorporating the ColorLok logo.

HP Officejet 4500 Desktop All-in-One and HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One printers are tagged at Rs.6.999 and Rs.7,999, respectively. The company’s OfficeJet portfolio currently spans across fourteen printing solutions.
