Transcend recently launched its elegant 7 inch digital photo frame dubbed as the PF730. The frame displays photos with style and also contains useful functions that add to its utility.

The new gizmo shows off its gently contoured frame with a simple and sophisticated elegant embossed pattern. The frame is adept at manifesting photos and can read high resolution JPG images captured with any digital camera. A choice is granted to its users between a customizable slideshow and a tiled thumbnail view or they can simply choose to watch one photo at a time.

It has a bright, high-resolution 800×600 photo friendly 4:3 screen, advanced NaturaTone user selectable color modes and an automatic Orientation sensor. It is also packed with 2GB of internal flash memory and users can preload entire photo collections on the frame. It also supports most mainstream memory cards including SD, SDHC, MMC and MS. A USB port for plugging-in USB flash drives is also inclusive.

Variable image sorting, transition effects, attractive frame borders and fun animation themes allow the frame to be customized. It also functions as a full featured MP3 player and listening to music with photo viewing is granted. Doubling as an alarm clock, the frame is equipped to play back movies and video clips. It supports full motion 30 fps video playback. It also acts as a clock and calendar and aids in remembering birthdays.

With a simple classic exterior design and a 7 inch ultra bright screen it packs in a series of value added functions. The PF730 has a colorful and easy to use interface. Personalized auto-start up modes can be defined and it is fully compliant with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and backward compatible with USB 1.1. In Onyx black it weighs only 370g and its dimensions are 194mmx160mmx29mm. It has L/R stereo speakers 0.5w each and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It can be navigated through 5 keys and a remote control and it supports music of various formats like MP3, WMA, WAV and more. It also supports varying video formats like Motion JPEG including AVI, MOV Up to 720×576 at 30fps. It has a power supply input and output of 100~240V 0.3A and 5V DC 2.0A respectively. Its music compression rates are 32Kbps–320Kbps and 32Kbps–192Kbps for MP3 and WMA respectively.

It comes with a 1 year panel warranty and a 2 year device warranty. The Transcend PF730 is available with Redington, Supertron, Mediaman and Luminous technologies and is approximately priced at Rs 8000.
