Earlier this month, we had reported that Amazon Kindle was set to include new featured for visually impaired readers next year. It seems like the device has already gather acclaim even before this could happen. According to Amazon.com, the Kindle is reportedly the most gifted product ever in the history of Amazon.
“We are grateful to our customers for making Kindle the most gifted item ever in our history. On behalf of Amazon.com employees around the world, we wish everyone happy holidays and happy reading!” exclaimed Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com.
As the company states, Kindle books outsold physical books this Christmas Day. The Kindle Store features more than 390,000 books and include a wide range of popular books like new releases as well as New York Times Bestsellers.
It was noted that on Amazon’s peak day which was on December 14, 2009, consumers placed orders for more than 9.5 million items worldwide. This amounted to a record-breaking 110 products per second.
