Plustek to showcase scanners, surveillance products and more at CeBIT

Plustek logoPlustek has announced a host of its new scanners that it will be exhibiting at the CeBIT 2009.

Its all new offerings include OpticBook A300, OpticPro A360, SmartOffice range including the PL7500, PL1212 and PS286 models, and MobileOffice range including the D600 and S420 models.

The OpticBro A300 is a large format (A3 size, up to 12”x17”) scanner which also claims to be the “first ever stand-alone book scanner”. It boasts of ultra-high scanning of 2.48 seconds at 300 dpi for A3 scanning and has one-touch customizable buttons. The scanner bundles along an array of softwares like NewSoft Presto!, PageManager 7.1, NewsPresto! Image Folio 4.5, I.R.I.S. Readiris Pro 10 Corporate Edition, Plustek Book Pavilion, Adobe Acrobat Reader and more.

The Plustek OpticPro A360 model also belongs to the large format scanners from the company. It packs in the USB 2.0 connectivity feature and is capable of A3 scanning with the resolution as high 600 dpi x 1200 dpi.

The SmartOffice range boasts of features like high accuracy and high scanning speed and is offered with softwares like Readiris Corporate Edition OCR. From this range, the Smart Office PL700 and PL1212 are especially designed for flat-bed and sheet-fed options. The SmartOffice PS286 offers high-speed desktop scanning at the speed of 25 ppm.

The Plustek MobileOffice D600 and S420 scanners are compact and mobile devices of which the D600 weighs just about 450 grams. The D600 is an A6 duplex mobile color scanner meant not only meant for scanning paper documents but also plastic cards, embossed cards, ID cards and others and transforming them into the formats of JPG, BMP, TIF, Word, Excel and PDF files and more. The S420 too is the very latest one from Plustek and is said to have multiple features like D600.

The Plustek OpticFilm 7900i is a scanning solution for film slides and negatives. Aimed at professional, graphic designers and multimedia specialists and personal users, this scanner promises to deliver high quality image which are apt for magazines, photo enlargements, brochures, web pages and photo albums as well, which can also be shared on Internet.

The SmartPhoto P60 and P50 scanners are photo scanners from the company, which can be expected to be highly affordable devices aimed at people who regularly upload photos on blogs and social networking sites.

Other than scanners, Plustek has also announced the NVR 4000 and NVR 4200V video recorders from the security and surveillance range. The NVR 4000 model comes with an added advantage of Motion-Jpeg recording and direct connectivity to the network and it is also manageable over LAN or Internet connection from anywhere.

It has also introduced MultiServer MFA100S for SOHO segment, SMEs, schools and other areas. It features numerous functions which include mail server, web mail, anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall, FTP server, QoS, MRTG, VoIP, SMS, NAT server, Samba server, DHCP server, DNS server, dynamic DNS server and system recovery. It also claims to have a simple user interface and can be installed over a web browser.

Plustek has also announced MiniStation MFA500 that features advanced mail functions like web mail, mail security, DNS, FTP/file server, system journal and firewall along with the capability to save a backup of mail content and support for Giga LAN switch.
