Samsung to unveil YP-Z5, the new MP3 Player Designed by Apple’s iPod Creator

Samsung YP-Z5 Samsung will be launching the YP-Z5 MP3 Player on March 5. The YP-Z5 has a 1.8” TFT-LCD screen, and 35 hours of battery life. It can play certain applications that resemble popular desktop software. Like other players the Z5 will be able to display pictures, and have touchback navigation.

Samsung Electronics’ new YP-Z5 MP3 player is causing a stir because it was designed by Paul Mercer, the very same programming genius who created the interface for Apple’s runaway success, the iPod.

The YP-Z5 supports “PlayForSure” WMA subscription music services.This is the first 4GB MP3 player that supports subscription services such as MTV’s Urge, Napster, Rhapsody, and Yahoo.

The player is set to retail in the $200-$250 range, with models ranging from 2GB-4GB.
