Fujifilm FinePix XP170

The Fujifilm FinePix XP170 camera is another addition to the rugged snapper lineup wrapped in a water-proof, shock-proof, freeze-proof and dust-proof form factor. And this isn’t all; the gadget even allows users to conveniently share captures through Android- and iOS-powered devices.

Fitted within the snapper is a 14MP CMOS sensor which proffers a quick start-up time and continuous shooting of up to 10fps. On the rear end rests an anti-reflective LCD, while the front panel sports a Fujinon 5x wide-angle optical zoom lens which flaunts a water repellent coating. Users will be able to record videos in full 1080p HD at 30fps, even when underwater. The CMOS-shift Image Stabilization system should reduce shakiness and deliver better low light captures.

“Sharing photos online has become the best and fastest way to show your family and friends your favorite images, and the versatile and durable FinePix XP170 lets users capture images in more places, and then offers easy sharing with its innovative Wireless Image Transfer function,” commented David Troy, director of marketing, Digital Cameras, Electronic Imaging Division, Fujifilm North America Corporation. “With its Four-Way Protection, the XP170 can become your go-to camera that you aren’t afraid to get wet, be dropped, or even frozen or covered in dirt and mud – it will still deliver fantastic photos and HD movies every time.”

Being a rugged camera, the Fujifilm FinePix XP170 is said to be water-proof up till 33 feet, shock-proof up to 6.5 feet and freeze-proof until 14°F. For sharing captured images on SNS like YouTube and Facebook, users can connect the snapper to any iOS and Android device through the Fujiflim Photo Receiver application. Other features include a 360° Motion Panorama mode, face detection and automatic red-eye removal. Its Li-ion rechargeable battery is capable of rendering up to 300 shots on a single charge.
