We’ve all dreamt of free voice calls, texts and data usage, but guess what, it’s actually a reality – FreedomPop has flipped the switch on its latest plan which delivers 200 minutes of calling, 500 messages and 500MB of internet usage for an entire month at absolutely no cost. And just to clarify things, there’s no contract agreement to sign up for as well.
Apart from the free plan, you can also go in for an unlimited subscription which provides limitless voice and texts at just $10.99 per month. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a carrier try something out of the ordinary to provide services at low costs. Just so you know, only one plan is free from FreedomPop.
Additionally, you’ll also have to shell out hard cash for a smartphone which at the moment is limited to the now-outdated HTC EVO Design. Well, the carrier does assert that various other Android handsets will be available later this year. The EVO Design was launched back in 2011 and it runs on Gingerbread 2.3.4 with an update to Ice Cream Sandwich available.
Delivering the steam here is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The handset features 4GB of eMMC flash storage and 768MB of RAM. On the front, there’s a 4-inch Super LCD 960 x 540p qHD touchscreen and a 1.3MP camera, while the rear flaunts a 5MP snapper. The device also sports a 1520mAh battery, Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n.
FreedomPop is offering the EVO Design smartphone at a 65% discount of $99. Those interested can sign up for the service through the carrier’s website.
