Flipkart starts teasing Xiaomi Mi3 launch, could be an exclusive

Xiaomi is said to open registrations for its Mi3 and other smartphones from tomorrow, but there’s no official word on how it plans to sell the devices. Previous reports have suggested that Flipkart will be in charge of distribution and it looks like the retailer could hold exclusivity over the handsets.

Flipkart recently started teasing an upcoming product and while it makes no mention of what device it plans to sell, the object in the picture looks to be the Xiaomi Mi3 smartphone. It basically shows the same curved design of the handset is question.

What isn’t clear is whether the retailer will gain exclusivity over the other phones as well. So far, only the Mi3 has been teased and Xiaomi is still keeping mum about is launch plans. Flipkart has managed to score multiple exclusive sales over the months. It has not only partnered with local OEMs, but international ones as well, including Asus and Nvidia amongst others.

The other two devices expected to go official for India are rumored to be the widely popular Redmi 1S and Note which have been selling like hot cakes in multiple markets. While they both fall in the mid-range, the Mi3 will be a high-end offering.

Update: Flipkart has posted a second teaser which makes it clear that the phone is the Mi3.
