The Flipboard Retina edition app has been rolled out, something that may come as good tidings to new iPad owners. More so, if this offering happens to be their favorite amongst the other personalized magazine options on the Apple App Store.
The application is complete with a beautiful interface that allows users to simply flip through the news to get a daily dose of what’s happening around the world. For those who can’t figure what we are going on about, Flipboard is essentially a social news magazine that brings to readers updates from Google Reader, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Flickr, Facebook and more in one place. Users can share, browse, comment and dabble in blogs, news, articles and more right from the app.
“As people read more and more of their daily news, check social networks and browse photos from friends on their iPad, Apple’s Retina display brings an entirely new level of enjoyment to that part of our lives,” states Evan Doll, co-founder Flipboard. “With a more pleasant Flipboard experience, easier on your eyes and more beautiful to flip through, we believe people will spend even more time reading their Flipboard.”
The latest version of the offering has been optimized for the new Apple tablet with it 2048 x 1536p Retina display, to proffer an enhanced immersive experience for users. According to the company, with the Retina edition of the app, the images will be sharper and more saturated when compared to the previous version. With better detailed images, the accompanying typography has also received a facelift and should make for more comfortable reading.
The Flipboard Retina edition app for the new iPad should be up for download from where else, but iTunes.
