If you’re out of the loop, Sony and VAIO have cut ties and will both be working individually in the future. It is hence that the latter has decided to go ahead and launch its very own smartphone. Available in Japan right now through a carrier named b-mobile, it is still to be announced for other nations.
The LTE device can be purchased at 4000 Yen per month on a contract basis, while its price goes up to 51000 Yen if purchased without an agreement. That brings its actual price to somewhere around $420 or Rs 26300. That’s still a lot, considering that the phone is not made by VAIO.
Yes, it has been found by blog of mobile that it’s a white label handset which has already been snapped up Panasonic to be sold as the Eluga U2. Moreover, it’s being offered at nearly half the price at which the VAIO Phone will be selling at.

For those interested, the new device grabs a 5-inch HD display and runs the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It has been equipped with a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor and 1GB worth of RAM. There’s a 13MP rear camera onboard, apart from a 5MP front snapper.
