The Asus PadFone X will finally go up for pre-order in the US through AT&T next month, but was it worth the 5-month long wait? The smartphone-tablet duo is priced at $199 with a two-year contract and you’ll be able to book it through the carrier’s online or retail stores starting June 6.
AT&T will also offer the device with no annual contracts through the Next 8 and 12 programs where the price is set at $22.92 and $29.80, respectively, per month. As you’re probable aware, the PadFone X made its debut back in January during the CES 2014. AT&T having exclusivity over the device only revealed the main features and specs a couple of months back, keeping potential buyers in the dark regarding the availability details.
Now while the price details have been disclosed, there’s still no word on when the smartphone-cum-tablet will be released. Hopefully, that information will be provided when pre-orders commence. The device comes in two parts – A smartphone and a tablet dock. The handset houses all of the major components, while the dock offers a larger display and extra battery life amongst others:
