WhatsApp button reportedly under testing in Facebook Android app

A marriage of Facebook and WhatsApp has been on the cards ever since the latter was purchased by the former last year for the mind-numbing sum of 19 billion dollars. It seems as though the time has finally come for the social network to begin integrating its services with those of the popular instant messaging utility.

Some copies of the latest version of Facebook for Android have been found sporting a new ‘Send’ button bearing the WhatsApp logo on it. This key apparently lets you share posts with your WhatsApp contacts in the form of links.

As you can see in the images released by Geektime, it’s version 31.0.0.7.13 of the Android app application that is exhibiting this functionality. The fact that it’s not available for everyone is an indication of that it’s currently in the middle of its testing phase.
