The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are certainly the finest smartphones to come from the Cupertino giant according to many, but even they aren’t free of issues. Some are finding it hard to adapt to the larger screen, while others are facing problems with iOS 8. Then there’s one small element that breaks the seamless design, the protruding camera, which we’re certain there are many of you who dislike it.
Well, don’t worry – you’re not alone – Even Apple seems to be embarrassed of the design. And that’s clearly evident in the images it has put up on its website. You probably haven’t noticed, but if you check the iPhone 6’s main product page, you’ll see multiple places where the handset is shown from the side without the camera bulge (see below).
Apple’s solution for the problem is a quick Photoshop nip and tuck, but that’s clearly not a feasible option in the real world. Well, an ingenious mind seems to have found a viable fix for the unwanted metal ring on the rear and has demonstrated it in the video below. It includes the use of heavy duty machinery, so don’t try this at home kids. We’ve got to warn you in advance – The video can be heart breaking or very amusing depending on which side of the spectrum you are with regards to Apple’s new iPhones.
Aside from the iPhone 6’s protruding camera, iOS 8 has caused a lot of issues for customers, but Apple has been quick to iron out the bugs through a new software update. Then there’s the ‘bendgate’ issue which has spread across social media like wildfire.
As it turns out, the iPhone 6 Plus can be easily bent leading to numerous complaints online. On the upside, the company will be replacing damaged units for free, but only after proper investigation – So no guarantees there.
Another possible solution for the protruding camera is that you could level the rear panel by using a protective case. So, tell us – Are you happy with the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and what would you like to change in the smartphones for enhancing the experience altogether?
