Now where have we heard that name before? Not waiting for the grass to grow under their feet before following up the Xtreamer Ultra HTPC with another offering, the company has already come out with the Xtreamer Prodigy media player. USB 3.0, Apple AirPlay support, a Flash GUI and web browser are the key features of this device.
The media player comes equipped with the ability to stream 7.1-channel HD audio and can even house a 3TB sized HDD. Rifling through content stored on the HDD ought to get easier with the incorporation of a search function and the device arrives with in-built DDnS for accessing the internet from anywhere.
Featuring a next-generation RTL chipset 1185, the Prodigy offers 1080p MKV and Gigabit LAN 10/100/1000 support. It renders easy access to a number of sites and services including YouTube XL, internet radio, Pandora, Facebook, GrooveShark and Google Talk among others.
There’s no mention about the likely launch date and pricing on the product page as yet. The Xtreamer Prodigy will be extended with several optional features such as USB antenna 802.11n Wi-Fi, DVB-t tuner and ChilTab passive cooling kit.
