Monsoon Multimedia Vulkano Flow streams high-quality TV content with ease

Monsoon Multimedia Logo Individuals needn’t worry anymore about missing their favorite TV shows as the clock ticks by. Monsoon Multimedia has recently released its new consumer mobile accessory for easy video streaming dubbed Vulkano Flow. When connected to any set-top box, the latest offering has the ability to stream high-quality TV content into mobile devices.

Breaking the barriers of limited geographic location, the Flow flaunts the ability to stream videos from any remotely placed set-top box. The easy-to-use device can effortlessly be set up and enables TV content viewing of any channel on users’ BlackBerry and Android smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Apple users can also stream content to their iPhones, iPads, Macs, while it will soon be available for Windows 7 and Symbian devices.

“With over 270 million smartphones and tablets sold worldwide in 2010, analysts are calling 2011 the year of the smartphone and expect smartphones to make up 50 percent of all phones in use by the end of 2011. We have seen an amazing response to the full-featured Vulkanos, but many customers wanted an affordable TV streaming accessory for their smartphones and tablets,” shared Colin Stiles, EVP of sales and marketing at Monsoon. “The Vulkano Flow enables them to watch their television programming during their commute, a business trip, family vacation or wherever they are regardless of their TV service provider.”

Users can pause, fast-forward or rewind live TV with the Vulkano Flow. Connecting to all major TV sources like cable, DVD, satellite, DVR and TiVo, this device streams videos at H.264 and MPEG-4 standards at low rates of 150Kbps. For searching their favorite channel quickly, users can mark them as well. Employing resolutions of up to 1080i, the TV content passes through the set-top box’s analog output to the Vulkano Flow. Besides, the impressive offering wirelessly connects to the home router via its built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi.

Monsoon Multimedia has also introduced the Vulkano Blast which offers web video, DVR, place shifting, Universal Plug and Play streaming and mobile video recording. In order to render augmented storage, it comes with 16GB of internal memory. Both devices, the Flow and Blast, subsume free PC and Mac player tools, though the iPad, iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, tablet and additional smartphone applications have to be downloaded for use.

The Vulkano Flow and Vulkano Blast are anticipated to be available this month through leading etailers and retailers as well as Monsoon Multimedia’s official website. Users can purchase the Flow and the Blast for $99 and $199, correspondingly. Whereas, the applications can be downloaded for $9.99 each through their respective app stores.
