Samsung 3D Blu-ray content, Plasma HDTVs and LED TVs to arrive this month

What could be more exciting than being able to enjoy high-quality theater like movies in the cosy environs of our living rooms. Samsung reveals plans to do just that with its 3D capable LED and Plasma HDTV offerings. The company will also be unveiling exciting Blu-ray movies.

The company has joined hands with DreamWorks Animation to let users indulge in 3D Blu-ray versions of television content. Enthusiasts can enjoy movies like Monsters vs. Aliens, Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs and more in 3D through IMAX 3D technology.

“With 3D, people can explore the wonder of an immersive entertainment experience in the comfort of their homes,” explained John Revie, senior VP of Home Entertainment, Samsung. “As the HDTV market leader for four straight years, we are proud to lead the way into the next dimension of premium entertainment and will continue to collaborate with industry leaders like DreamWorks Animation, IMAX and Giant Screen Films to deliver richer content to the home.”

The 65” UN65C8000 is a full HD 3D LED TV which integrates a built-in 3D processor as well as 240Hz refresh rate technology. The device flaunts a dynamic 8,000,000:1 contrast ratio and comes with Precision Dimming technology.

Apart from offering Wi-Fi capabilities, the gadget supports Skype through Samsung Apps as well. The TV has the ability to transform into a video screen and also allows video calling functionality. Users can access apps like Hulu Plus and ESPN Next Level and more too.

Next in line are the Plasma HDTVs which deliver 1080p resolutions and integrate 600Hz Subfield Motion feature. Boasting of a mega dynamic contrast ratio, the offering exhibits deep blacks and bright colors. The devices possess AllShare capabilities and Touch of Color design.

Available in 50” or 58” screen sizes, the exterior of the HDTVs flaunt a subtle black-to-dark blue finish to the set’s bezel. Moreover, the units accommodate Clear Image Panel technology too. The devices abide by the Energy Star 4.0 standards.

All the above mentioned Samsung offerings are expected to hit markets this month. While the 65” UN65C8000 3D LED TV is priced at $5,999.99, buyers will have to pay $1,599.99 and $1,099.99 for the 50” PN50C680 and PN50C490 Plasma TVs, respectively. The 58” PN58C680 variant costs $2,299.99.
