While yesterday we reported about Samsung’s new LED TV lineup, looks like the company has lots more in store for multimedia content lovers. Samsung outs eight new ultra-slim Plasma HDTV models for the U.S. The company’s 2010 line-up includes the Plasma HDTV 8000, 7000 and 6500 series.
Among the new series, models in three series range from 50” to 63”. Six of the new TVs interestingly feature 3D allowing users to enjoy a new dimension over the conventional HDTV viewing experience. Though the TVs are optimized for viewing 3D content, they also allow users to render 2D content into 3D in real time thanks to the integrated 3D processor. Sporting a high-efficiency panel that lowers power consumption, the TVs also meet the more stringent Energy Star 4.0 guidelines.
The company additionally intends to elevate the 3D experience with the free 3D Starter Kit. For a limited period, users will receive the free kit along with the purchase of a Samsung 3D HDTV and either the Samsung BD-C6900 3D Blu-ray Player or the HT-C6930W 3D Home Theater System. A 3D version of ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ and two pairs of Samsung 3D Active Glasses are bundled in this kit.
“Samsung has raised the bar for the plasma TV marketplace by providing exceptional picture quality in a slim and energy efficient package,” commented John Revie, senior vice president of Home Entertainment for Samsung Electronics America. “With our 2010 select models which include 3D capabilities and Web-enabled multimedia access through Samsung Apps, we are delivering on our promise to create products that evolve with the needs and desires of our customers.”
