The PlayStation 3 console will now be getting a new controller that incorporates a rumble feature. Called the DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller, this peripheral will be available in Japan in November 2007.
It must be noted that the newly announced DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller will NOT come bundled with future PS3 consoles, but will be sold as a separate accessory.
The new DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller will retain the basic design and functionality of its predecessor (the original PlayStation controller). However, it will incorporate the high-precision, high response motion sensitive six-axis sensing system.
The most notable feature of the new DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller is the rumble feature. This combined with the highly realistic motion sensitive six-axis sensing system takes gamers deeper into the world of interactivity, delivering a more intuitive, realistic and immersive gaming experience.
Moreover, most of the PS3 game titles that are already available in the market are already or will soon become compatible with the rumble feature. They will become compatible with the rumble feature via a software update.

The DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller for the PlayStation 3 will be available in Japan only from November 2007 onwards. Sony plans to release this controller in North America and Europe in spring 2008.
