The developers behind Dropbox have gone on to reveal several details regarding lowered pricing and increased storage for its subscription based Pro plans. Apart from this, the company has even disclosed an array of fresh and interesting features that will be added to these cloud locker services.
Dropbox Pro is now equipped to provide users with 1TB worth of storage in exchange of $9.99 a month. This means, it’s now in direct competition with the dirt cheap Google Drive plans. An annual subscription of the same amount of storage can be nabbed for $99 a year, which means there are 17 percent of savings to be looked at.
These Dropbox Pro customers will be getting their money’s worth in the storage department alright, but Dropbox isn’t stopping at that. The newly revealed attributes that will be accessible by these subscribers might manage to lure many towards the cloud solutions company.

Prime among the new offerings is the ability to create an additional layer of security, so only those with a password can access the links you send across. Furthermore, you’ll be able to dictate an expiration date for your shared links as well, apart from granting view-only permissions for shared folders.
Lastly, there’s a fresh Remote Wipe option that can come in handy during instances of device loss. If you ever happen to misplace your phones, tablets or laptops or if they’re stolen, you can delete your Dropbox files from them. Those files will of course stay backed up in the cloud, so that you can access them from any other machine.
Dropbox Pro will be updated in the days to come for all those who subscribe to it already. For those who want to give it a try, 2GB worth of space is offered for free on signing up.
