One would expect a feature as important as OIS to have entered HTC flagship smartphones long back, but it’s only now that the company has managed to push it into the Desire 828, its new mid-range offering. This device is available for pre-order in China in exchange of RMB 1599 which translates to around $255 or Rs 16600.
The affordable HTC Desire 828 bears on its rear surface a 13MP snapper which exhibits the optical image stabilization properties. This not only results in stabilized videos, but also provides users with shake-free photographs in low-light conditions when they’re most likely to get spoiled by wobbly hands.
HTC has equipped it with a 5.5-inch display which showcases its visuals in 1080p full HD resolution. There’s an octa core MediaTek MT6753 CPU onboard as well, aside from 2GB worth of RAM and 16GB of storage space which can be expanded further up to a whopping 2TB by means of a microSD card slot.
The Desire 828 ships with a 5MP front camera as well, for selfies and video calling. It’s a dual SIM 4G offering which runs the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s trademark Sense 6.0 user interface on top of it. Front-facing stereo speakers are one more highlight of this new phone.
A neat look at the specs of the HTC Desire 828:
