There was no news of Dell coming out with business laptops for quite a long time. Dell seems to have realized the need of the hour and has introduced its new Latitude series. Introducing the new line of Latitude, Dell announced the Latitude E series – Latitude E6400, E6500, E5500, E540, E4300 and E4200 exclusively for what Dell calls the ‘Digital Nomads’.
Amongst the business centric notebooks, the Latitude E6500 comes in a 15.4 inch form factor while the Latitude E6400 comes in 14 inch and boasts of a battery life of up to 19 hours for all day computing. The two laptops are for mainstream corporate use built to give high performance.
The Dell E6400 and E6500 notebooks are available for Rs 54, 990/- and Rs 55, 990/-, respectively.
The E5500 is a 15.4 inch widescreen and the E5400 sports a 14.1 inch widescreen. The E550 is a cost-effective business laptop described as ‘essential’ by Dell providing everyday features and available for Rs. 48,990. The E540 comes at Rs. 46,900.
The E4200 and E4300 come in the ultra-portable category, in which the E4200 has a 12.1 wide screen while the latter sports a 13.3-inch. The 4200 and 4300 weigh just about 0.99kgs and 1.4kgs respectively which make them light enough to be portable. Also, they boast of maximum performance with light weight.
The semi-rugged category has the latitude E6400 ATG built to meet the demanding needs of people working on the field. Priced at Rs. 69,900, the E6400 ATG has been tested and meets the Military 810F standards for dust, vibration and humidity.

The Latitude E4200, E4300, E6400 and E6500 sport a Mica-Brushed Metal, and are available in regatta blue, regal red (and quartz pink for E4200 only). These are expected to hit the market in coming weeks. The Dell Latitude E5400 and E5500 are available in matte black.
