Along with the price and release date of the Dell Inspiron 15z Ultrabook, the company has announced availability details of a number of other Windows 8-based devices. These include the XPS 12, XPS 10 and Latitude 10 tablets, Latitude 6430u notebook, OptiPlex 9010, XPS 13 and XPS One 27 AIO, which have already hit pre-order status.
The Inspiron 15z features an optional multi-touch display and claims to offer a large screen along with more processing powers and additional entertainment options. It is constructed using aluminum and is encased in a form factor that measures less than an inch in thickness. The notebook is based on the Windows 8 OS and can extend support to third generation Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. Fitted with a 15.6-inch HD WLED display, it can be configured with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM.
Furthermore, the computing device is integrated with a 500GB SATA HDD as well as a 32GB mSATA SSD. Users can choose between Intel HD Graphics 400 and Nvidia GeForce GT630M to ensure an improved visual performance. It comes with a backlit chiclet keyboard complete with a TouchPad to recognize gestures, a 6-cell lithium-ion battery and a built-in DVD drive amongst other things.
The non-touch Inspiron 15z Ultrabook starts at $749 and will begin shipping on October 31. Its touch version can be reserved for $899 and it will be available from December 10. The XPS 10, Latitude 10, Latitude 6430u, OptiPlex 9010, XPS 13 and touchscreen XPS One 27 cost $499, $649, $899, $1,199, $999.99 and $1,599.99, respectively. These devices are now up for pre-order and are slated to start shipping in the coming weeks.
