After designing multiple low-cost tablets for users in India, the Aakash tabs’ manufacturer has bounced back into the country with Datawind UbiSlate 7Ri, 7R+, 7Ci and 7C+. These sequels to the previously launched UbiSlate devices continue to offer features like a 7-inch touchscreen, Android operating system and web access amongst others.
While the 7Ri and the 7R+ variants are fitted with resistive touchscreens, the other two variants have been blessed with capacitive multi-touch displays. Powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor and 512MB RAM, these devices render visuals in 800 x 480p resolution and treat users to the Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
“The new range of Ubislate Tablets is packed with anytime anywhere Low-Cost Internet connectivity, UbiSurfer browser based on 18 international patents that can deliver internet access on traditional GPRS networks and a powerful combination of content and applications raising the bar in terms of meeting customers’ mobility needs. These tablets are of the gold standard when it comes to low – cost tablet cum Smart phone space being offered at an exciting price to our customers,” quoted Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO, Datawind.
Besides a VGA front camera, the Wi-Fi-enabled UbiSlate tabs have been embedded with a G-sensor, a mini-USB port, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot for additional storage of up to 32GB. Additionally, the 7R+ and 7C+ are compatible with the GPRS network and can cough up the juice for usage time of about 3 – 4 hours. The other two tablets offer battery life that lasts for up to 180 minutes.
The Datawind UbiSlate 7Ri, 7R+, 7Ci, 7C+ prices in India range between Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 4,499, but their release dates have not been mentioned.
Datawind is selling used tabs when i opened the box there are many scratches on screen it does not look like new one and there is no contact information on the box or in website there customer support also not working.
Battery backup is very less it lost battery in less than an hour.
I don’t recommend it to any one.
