The HTC Desire C smartphone is all geared up to launch through Cricket as its price and availability details have been unveiled. The device can be picked up for a little under $160 through the carrier’s website.
The Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform is employed here for a rich experience layered with the HTC Sense 4.0 UI. Visuals are delivered through a 3.5-inch HVGA TFT display which portrays a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels. A 600MHz processor is coupled with 512MB of RAM to get things done smoothly and efficiently. The Desire C operates on the carrier’s CDMA network with EvDo Rev 0 transfer speeds, while other connectivity needs are taken care of by Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Getting all components up and running is a 1230mAh Li-ion battery which is capable of delivering up to 370 minutes of talktime or approximately 450 hours of standby on a single charge. For entertainment, users will have the Beats Audio enhancement and the carrier’s Muve music service at their disposal. The Play store can be accessed for downloading music, games and other content. To top it off, the company is offering 25GB of free online cloud storage through integration of Dropbox where videos, pictures and documents can be stored and accessed from almost anywhere.
The HTC Desire C smartphone can be purchased for $159.99 after a web discount of $20 off the original retail $179.99 cost. The smartphone is compatible with 3 monthly plans from Cricket starting at $50.
