Celkon’s Rahmanishq range of smartphones has a new member in the form of the AR40 and it is slated to hit store shelves in the country in the next few days. Like its siblings from the range, the Celkon device is dedicated to A R Rahman and should carry features to offer an enhanced musical experience on the move.
For a price that’s under Rs 6,000, prospective customers can expect a capacitive touchscreen that provides a multi-touch real estate of 4 inches. The compact entry-level phone has also been loaded with dual cameras. So you will find a 3.2MP snapper on the rear side, while a VGA camera apt for video conferencing, lays its claim over the front alongside the screen.
Presence of two SIM card slots in inevitable and as there’s only 4GB of internal storage which also may not be completely available to users, the company has thrown in a microSD slot for extending support to a memory card of not more than 32GB capacity. Unlike the Spice phones unveiled yesterday, this device is compatible with 3G mobile networks.
In spite of falling in the affordable bracket, the Celkon handset makes the most of the Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS and is eligible for firmware updates. A 1500mAh battery is what keeps it going and you can attribute its smooth internal working to a 1.2GHz dual core processor as well as 512MB of RAM. And do we really need to mention that it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and common connectivity ports?
The Celkon Rahmanishq AR40 is slated to be up for grabs soon for a price of Rs 5,999.
