Cat S50c

Cat has announced the launch of a new rugged smartphone named S50c which can be bought by those residing in the US on Verizon’s network. This Android phone is meant to survive under extreme conditions, and has its price set at $399.99.

You must have guessed from that retail value that its specs won’t be eye-grabbers in any way. That’s quite true since the Cat S50c has gone for a 4.7-inch 720p HD display and the outdated Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset which comes with LTE support and a 1.2 GHz quad core processor.

However, it’s the phone’s protective features that matter. These include Gorilla Glass protection for its screen and IP67 certification for dust and water proofing. Its rugged body is rated MIL-SPEC 810G, which allows this Cat handset to survive drops from up to 4 feet.

Here’s a neat look at all the key specs of the new Cat S50c:

– Display: 4.7-inch with Corning Gorilla Glass, 720p HD resolution
– OS: Android 5.0 Lollipop
– Processor: 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
– GPU: Adreno 306
– Memory: 1GB RAM, 8GB storage (expandable)
– Cameras: 8MP rear, 2MP front
– Battery: 2630mAh
– Dimensions: 142.2 x 76.2 x 12.47mm
– Weight: 200gms

The S50c runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and is kept going by a 2630mAh battery pack. It has been revealed to feature 1GB of worth of RAM and 8GB worth of expandable storage as well. Lastly, an 8MP camera has been placed on its rear surface, while a 2MP snapper occupies space on its front end.

Like we said, the Cat S50c happens to be a Verizon exclusive and can be found selling in the US at $399.99. Watch the video in the space right above to know more about this rugged device.
