Cartoon Network has teamed up with Smashing Ideas, one of the largest independent developers of Adobe Flash-based digital media in the US for the development and distribution of multiple Cartoon Network mobile games, animated screensavers and wallpapers.
Under this partnership Cartoon Network’s content will be distributed throughout North America by Smashing Ideas, The content will circulated via carriers who offer support to Flash Lite content. The first installment in the new initiative is a games channel that includes two games on Smashing Idea’s BREW application, “Smashing Games.”
Ross Cox, senior director of advanced platforms, Cartoon Network New Media said, “We are very proud to partner with Smashing Ideas in the creation of a branded games channel that is the first of its kind in mobile gaming.” Cox added, “Our games channel extends the type of immersive gaming experience our fans expect from Cartoon Network onto the mobile platform and serves as a launching pad for groundbreaking original titles created in Flash Lite.”
