Besides the servo-controlled zoom lens capability, the Sony NEX-EA50UH in the NXCAM series boasts of employing an APS-C image sensor as well. This interchangeable professional lens camera has been integrated with multiple creative modes and can be used for capturing HD 1080p videos as well as high-resolution still photos.
Its 16.1MP Exmor APS-C HD CMOS sensor and the mechanical shutter facilitate clicking low noise images in poorly lit conditions. Integrated with the E-mount interchangeable lens system, it is capable of supporting third-party as well as A-mount lenses with the help of an external adapter. In addition to continuous variable iris and auto focus, the imaging device comes with Optical Steady Shot image stabilization to eliminate the blurring effect from videos and images.
“This all-in-one camcorder will bring enhanced creativity to a wider range of professional users than ever before. It combines affordability and high performance with versatile, professional features for nearly any type of production applications,” commented Chiyoko Yannette, senior marketing manager at Sony Electronics’ Professional Solutions of America group.
The Power Zoom E-mount E PZ 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 OSS SELP18200 lens of the comfortable-to-use shooter should make it capable of offering a constant zoom speed and smooth slow zoom. Professional functions such as 2-channel XLR audio, Linear PCM audio, built-in GPS and more have been included too. The snapper is compatible with the Sony HXR-FMU128 flash memory unit and the Mirroring Memory Stick in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities.
The Sony NEX-EA50UH price tag reads $4500 and it is expected to hit store shelves in October this year.
