BSNL and Pantel team up to offer Penta Smart handsets, and T-Pad tablet in India

Like Idea, BSNL also offers its own devices and the carrier has joined hands with Pantel Technologies to launch 2 new smartphones, 1 feature phone and a tablet, all catering to the affordable segment with sub-Rs 10,000 prices. The new lineup comprises of the Bharat Phone, the Penta Smart PS650, the Smart PS501 and the T-Pad WS707C.

Let’s start off with the feature device. Dubbed the Bharat Phone, this handset is just Rs 1,799 and it offers a 3-inch display with dual SIM support. It supports data access where you can browse the web and various services like Facebook and email. The phone sports a 1.3MP camera on the rear and Bluetooth connectivity as well as 64MB of RAM and 64MB of internal storage.

Penta Smart PS501

Apart from these, there’s an 1800mAh battery which can deliver up to 8 hours of talktime or 15 days of standby. BSNL is offering the Bharat Phone with 1200 minutes of free talktime. The second device on the list is the Penta Smart PS650. It sports a large 6.5-inch screen with an OGS panel, a 1.2GHz Cortex A7 dual core processor with Mali 400MP graphics, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 2500mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and it has a 2MP rear camera.

The Penta Smart PS501 packs the same processor and memory provisions seen in the PS650. However, this device comes with a 5-inch IPS touchscreen, a 5MP rear snapper, 15GB of cloud storage and various preloaded applications. Last on the list is the T-Pad WS707C tablet which is powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a dual core CPU and 512MB of RAM. The device tags along 4GB of flash memory.

PS650

While the Bharat Phone is tagged at Rs 1,799, the Penta Smart PS650 and Smart PS501 being offered at Rs. 7,999 and Rs 6,999, respectively. The T-Pad WS707C is also priced at Rs. 6,999. The smartphones and tablet are accompanied by 3GB of 3G Data and 300 minutes of talktime.
