If word on the street is to be believed then Bloodborne, one of the finest games of the last generation is all set to shed its PS4 exclusivity. A special Hunter’s Edition of the game is apparently being created for PC and the PS5. Although it’s already playable on the latter platform thanks to its backwards compatibility, this new version will supposedly add much-needed performance upgrades.
Bloodborne PC is something fans have been demanding for a very long time and especially so since Sony started releasing its popular games on Windows last year with Death Stranding. The Hunter’s Edition may finally let PC gamers experience the action-RPG brilliance of the FromSoftware game.
According to GameRant, a well-known leakster on 4chan, who goes by the name Demonite has released what they claim are crucial details about the road ahead for the game. According to this leak, the framerate of Bloodborne PC will be capped at 60fps.
As for the PS5 version of the Hunter’s Edition, it will apparently run at 60fps and 1440p (upscaled to 4K) in Performance mode. The game may even feature ray tracing in this mode but of lower quality. Quality mode, on the other hand, will offer full ray tracing, albeit at 30fps.
Inspired by the works of authors H. P. Lovecraft and Bram Stoker, Bloodborne bears many similarities to games from the Souls universe. It was met with universal acclaim when it hit the PS4 in 2015 and is now widely considered one of the best video games of all time. Fans demanding a sequel have been met with nothing but silence from the makers.
If you’re among those waiting for Bloodborne to be released on PC, or its full PS5 version, do note that the Hunter’s Edition is pegged for January or February release date, according to the leak. So there’s a lot more waiting to do apparently.
