BlackBerry India has started sending out invites for an event next week where it will officially launch the all-touch Z3 smartphone. The handset’s arrival in the country has been rumored from a few months now and there have been multiple indications of its impending launch.
The BlackBerry Z3 is the company’s first handset which has been developed by Foxconn and it’s the first all-touch release from the BB10 ecosystem to be targeted at the budget segment. The device was unveiled along with the QWERTY touting Q20 which is now known as the Classic. Design-wise, it follows the same road as its predecessors, offering a 5-inch touchscreen on the front with no hardware buttons. The display offers qHD resolution, while the rear sports a textured design and a 5MP camera.
On the inside, there’s a 1.2GHz dual core Snapdragon processor accompanied by 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The device will also carry a 2500mAh battery. Along with the latest BB10 OS, the phone is preloaded with various other attributes such as BBM, BlackBerry Keyboard, Story Maker, Hub and Time Shift amongst others. In other news, the company is working on new high-end phones including the Q30 Windermere which will have a QWETRY design as well. The Bold 9900 has also been brought back from the grave to woo fans of the traditional design.
