The price in UK for the BlackBerry Z10 has apparently been leaked as RIM gets ready for its upcoming launch event on the 30th of this month. With so many teasers and let-outs already, this might just be the last piece of the puzzle relating to the handset. In fact, there have been so many details that have been made known unofficially that we were even able to put together a passing roundup of the device’s specs and features.
This leak has the ‘SIM-free’ BlackBerry Z10 pose via Carphone Warehouse for potential buyers in the UK. RIM’s big announcement is just about two days away, and we seem to be getting fewer reveals about the company’s plans as we approach. But with so many features already pried out, one would think that there’s little left screaming for an official unveiling.
Even a phone reportedly belonging to the company’s X series was ‘revealed’ not too long ago. It brought along a full QWERTY keyboard as well as a screen capable of touch functions. There were just a few images, but from what we could gather, the keyboard had a very straight appearance and the display was larger than usual. On offer was even a picture of the screen showing newly designed app icons.
Engadget is reporting that a tipster has sent in a snapshot of Carphone Warehouse’s internal database, which reveals that the retailer will sell the RIM handset for £480 not including taxes. The white version of the phone has been listed and an accompanying model number seems to align with earlier reports of a mistimed reveal from the retailer.
Here’s what we know about the handset so far. It will come with a 4.2-inch screen offering up visuals in a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels with 356ppi. An 8MP camera will be affixed to the rear and will be capable of capturing videos in full HD 1080p format. There will also be one on the front for video chat, and if the new BlackBerry Messenger has got anybody excited, then this 2MP snapper should slot in well.
Operations will be run by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 processor clocked in at 1.5GHz. There should be 1GB of RAM and about 16GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD card. In terms of connectivity features, users will be able to expect Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Wi-Fi, while an 1800mAh battery should provide power.
So with this BlackBerry Z10 leak from Carphone Warehouse, UK buyers know what to expect, in terms of cost. We’ll only have to wait until Wednesday for proper tangible evidence.
