While BlackBerry has learned what works and what doesn’t in the smartphone market the slow and hard way, it still believes there’s demand for luxury devices and hence a Porsche Design P’9983 is in the works. While there has been much talk and speculation about the handset, this is the first time we’re getting a glimpse at its design.
The guys over at N4BB have scored big if this press render of the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 smartphone turns out to the authentic. As you can see below, the device is going to be a QWERTY one and it’ll feature a design that’s very close to what its predecessor flaunts. Also, it’ll obviously be made from premium materials.
Well, there are some noticeable tweaks to the overall form factor. The P’9983 smartphone looks to be the same size compared to last year’s P’9981, but it’ll have a larger display. To make this happen, the much-loved classic buttons will be dropped. The screen size is pegged at 3.5 inches and we expect it to offer the same 720 x 720 pixel resolution as the Q5 and Q10 handsets.
Additionally, the keyboard design has been altered as well, making the letters more visible like on the super-size Passport. It’s clearly evident that the phone will run on the BB10 platform and it could feature the upcoming 10.3.1 release which is slated to arrive in Q3 2014.
Here’s a roundup of the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 handset specs:
– BlackBerry 10.3.1 OS
– 3.5-inch touchscreen
– 4-row QWERTY keyboard
– 1.7GHz dual core processor
– 64GB internal storage
– 3GB RAM
According to the source, the BlackBerry Porsche Design P’9983 is most likely to make its debut sometime during late Q3 along with the Passport phone. The device is said to be price at around $2000.
