BlackBerry 10 OS: The software that drives the Z10 and Q10 handsets

BlackBerry 10 OS

The BlackBerry 10 OS is the Canada-based manufacturer’s latest mobile platform that was recently unveiled in several places across the globe simultaneously. The firmware will be initially available through the newly launched smartphones, namely the full-touch Z10 and the QWERTY-equipped Q10.

RIM, seemingly isn’t the type to keep secrets. While some developers tend to keep their latest offerings under wraps until a formal launch is provided, the BlackBerry 10 OS was disclosed to the public a long time back and the company even updated fans and enthusiasts with demonstrations and in-depth details of new features being added to the platform, through its official blog.

The Hub is the main place to visit for managing conversations like personal and work emails, BBM messages, notifications and updates from social media services and much more. The latest OS allows users to conveniently jump into this menu from practically anywhere through means of simple swipes. Another prime highlight here is BlackBerry Flow that makes carrying out tasks an intuitive experience, or so the company claims. With this attribute, users will be able to conveniently slide between several applications.

The virtual keyboard bundled with the OS is said to learn how words are used and present them when required for speeding up text input and enhancing accuracy. Lastly, the company has introduced the Time Shift camera feature and the Story Maker tool as key highlights. In recent news, the manufacturer renamed its app store to BlackBerry World to fit the needs of the new platform. Speaking of which, an estimate of 70,000 applications are said to be already available for the latest devices.
