Bell HTC Windows Phone 8X release date leaked for November 15, price still a mystery

Bell HTC Windows Phone 8X

The HTC Windows Phone 8X release date for Canada has been leaked to fall 10 days from now and the phone is expected to go live through Bell. The handset is said to be the carrier’s first device to operate on the Windows Phone 8 platform and it’s in direct competition with Nokia’s Lumia 920 smartphone.

The Windows Phone 8X was announced back in September along with the entry-level 8S. The handset is positioned as one of the signature Windows Phone members and it features a uni-body design like most other devices rolled out from HTC. A 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm is employed here to do all the heavy lifting. The phone also carries 1GB of RAM for smooth operations. The WP8 UI is displayed through a 4.3-inch 720p HD super LCD 2 touchscreen that’s said to provide clear visuals even under bright sunlight.

A protective coating of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is layered over the screen for enhanced durability. Users will have 16GB of internal storage and there’s no mention of an expansion slot. A 2.1MP wide-angle camera sits pretty on the front, while the rear features an 8MP snapper with AF and an LED flash. Both snappers can record videos in 1080p HD and they pack in a dedicated HTC ImageChip. Lastly, the Beats Audio integration is touted to deliver deeper bass, crisper vocals and detailed high notes while listening to music, playing games and watching movies as well as videos.

The HTC Windows Phone 8X should be available for purchase in Canada on November 15 through Bell, so states a report published by MobileSyrup. Where price details are concerned, the carrier is yet to announce the official retail cost and the smartphone’s arrival as well. In the US, the device will sell for $99.99 through AT&T or $199.99 via Verizon and T-Mobile. Potential buyers in the UK can pick up the phone for £531.43 unlocked starting November 8.
