Bebo spreads across Europe

Bebo logoBebo, the social networking site has now extended itself to Europe as AOL People Networks has launched the service across major territories like France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Netherlands.

Bebo will come translated in the languages of French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. With the launch in these territories, Bebo has also collaborated with the local media brands like AlloCiné, Clipfish, Telecom Italia owned Yalp!, Diagonal View and Preview Networks’ Filmtrailer.

“The proven success of our platform in the UK and Ireland positions us well to expand into these dynamic continental European markets. The social networking audience is growing rapidly and our new sites will allow local users to connect with other users, entertainment and brands, both globally and locally,” said Nicole Vanderbilt, VP International, Bebo.

“The richness of our experience lies in the user’s ability to express him or herself – as evidenced in our new Lifestory feature – and in the ability to connect to people, media and brands through the Lifestream and our Open Media Platform,” Vanderbilt added.

The Open media platform that Bebo offers will be utilized by its new media partners as Bebo has created “Share on Bebo” button for the media owners and publisher sites. With this, whenever a user shares her/his favorite media content, an update will virally spread via the Lifestream in the entire network taking traffic back to media owner or publisher.
