One more battle royale game called H1Z1 is all set to hit the PS4 next month, and while it will also be arriving on the Xbox One, there’s no word on when that is going to happen. Slated to hit the PS4 on May 22, this game comes with a free-to-play model.
The studio behind H1Z1, Daybreak Games calls it ‘the original standalone battle royale game.’ That’s because the title has been under development for three years. Early on, it was split up into two separate projects. One was called H1Z1: Just Survive and the other, H1Z1: King of the Kill.
The changes didn’t stop there, even as these games got further split into separate projects last October. This led to Just Survive dropping the H1Z1 name, and King of the Kill being rebranded simply as H1Z1. This means the title is already available to play on PC.
Daybreak Games has however revealed that new weapons, a fresh weapon progression system and a revamped user interface will be making their way into the PS4 version. The game consists of a grab-and-go equipment system that looks to simplify loot collection and inventory management
Apart from that, a radial weapon menu and a revamped HUD also form part of the game. And with an aim of increasing the pace of the game, the makers have decided to speed up the play of the match and have even revamped the airdrop system to keep players moving and invested in fights.
H1Z1 will be seen facing huge competition from Fortnite on the PS4. The popular title which also comes with a free-to-play model, is all the rage among gamers at the moment.
