In a bid to broaden its horizons, Barnes & Noble Nook products and digital content are going international. They are slated to be made available in the UK after a couple of months. The company will even make these devices available through a number of different portals, retail outlets as well as its own website.
Products that will be put up for purchase in October in the aforementioned regions include the Nook Simple Touch and Simple Touch with GlowLight. This eReader with GlowLight boasts of being conveniently fitted with an in-built light to facilitate reading in poorly lit conditions. Both the aforesaid Wi-Fi-enabled slabs offer access to the digital catalog served up by the company.
“We are proud to be able to offer our top-rated line of Nook reading devices and our award-winning digital bookstore to the discerning and highly educated consumers in the UK. We’re confident our award-winning technology, combined with our expansive content – including books, children’s books, magazines, apps, movies and more – will bring UK customers the option they’ve been waiting for,” commented William J. Lynch, Chief Executive Officer at Barnes & Noble.
And there’s yet more to the Barnes & Noble products which will be following the aforementioned slates into the country. The online Nook Store is expected to stock up on over 2.5 million titles inclusive of books, newspapers, magazines, comics, applications and more. Reading apps for various platforms and systems will also be made available in the UK. And as books purchased through this service are saved on the cloud, they can be accessed from multiple devices.
The Barnes & Noble Nook Products should arrive in the UK by mid-October. The exact price and availability details will be clarified in the coming weeks.
