AT&T offers Free Wi-Fi for LaptopConnect Subscribers

AT&T Logo AT&T has announced that the qualifying LaptopConnect customers can now access more than 17,000 Wi-Fi hotspots free of charge. These Wi-Fi spots include 7,000 participating Starbucks locations plus thousands more AT&T Wi-Fi locations, including restaurants, airports, hotels and other convenient places across the United States.

The offer is available to customers who subscribe to a DataConnect plan of $59.99 or more. Subscribers who have downloaded the AT&T Communication Manager software need to simply click on Connect to access the Wi-Fi connectivity.

The AT&T Communication Manager comes along with new LaptopConnect cards. Those who do not have this can download the software from http://att.com/laptopconnect.

Michael Woodward, vice president, Business Mobility Products for AT&T’s wireless unit said, “The combination of the nation’s largest wireless and Wi-Fi networks is unbeatable.” Adding, “It’s the ultimate in mobility for laptops – AT&T’s wireless network plus more than 17,000 Wi-Fi locations.”

When the laptop is not in the hotspot, users can use the AT&T LaptopConnect cards to operate on AT&T’s wireless network, which provides DSL-like speeds on the company’s 3G network.
