The Nokia Lumia 920 release date and price from AT&T have been revealed for all those interested in picking up the Finnish manufacturer’s Windows Phone 8 contender. Users can even choose the 820 or the HTC 8X which are slated to be made available in time for the holiday season.
Similar to most other Lumia phones, the device in question comes drenched in a number of shades like cyan, yellow, red, black and white. This smartphone with dimensions of 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 millimeters, is light in weight as it tips the scales at merely 185 grams. Its front panel is dominated by a 4.5-inch ClearBlack PureMotion HD+ capacitive multi-touch screen, reinforced with Corning Gorilla Glass. The display has been optimized for projecting clear images even in bright sunlight.
The key highlight of the phone is its camera that takes advantage of the company’s PureView imaging technology. This 8.7MP snapper has also been deployed with advanced floating lens technology and is said to be the first mobile camera with optical image stabilization for doing away with blurring effect due to hand or camera shake. It even features a Carl Zeiss optical lens, dual LED flash, 4x digital zoom, auto focus, touch focus and more.
And if that’s not enough, the Lumia 920 also captures five times more light in order to reproduce clear and high-quality images and movies even in poorly lit conditions. It is embedded with a front-mounted webcam of 1280 x 960p resolution in order to enable users to engage in video conferencing over the web.
It is fueled by a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor as well as 1GB internal memory and draws power from a 2000mAh non-removable battery. The handset can cough up the juice for talk time of about 18.6 hours or 10.8 hours in the 2G and 3G modes, respectively. Also, it is packaged along with a charging plate for powering the device wirelessly.
The Nokia Lumia 920 is now up for pre-order through AT&T for $99.99 along with a two-year customer agreement. It will be up for grabs from November 9.
