The Nokia Lumia 520 release date has been confirmed for July 26 in the US and this first WP8 handset for GoPhone from AT&T will be up for grabs in the country for a price of just under $100. Considering that the Nokia phone will be available on the network provider’s prepaid service, customers are not required to sign any contract to lay their hands on this competitively-priced device.
The compact handset measuring 119.9 x 64 x 9.9 millimeters and weighing in at 124 grams accommodates a 4-inch capacitive WVGA screen with a pixel density of 235ppi. It is devoid of a front camera, but the Nokia Lumia 520 employs a 5MP primary snapper boasting of auto focus with two-stage capture key, 4x digital zoom, panorama, smart shoot and many other features.
Moreover, the internal working is carried out under the supervision of a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that can clock in a maximum speed of 1GHz. There’s 512MB of RAM and the smartphone brings 8GB of onboard memory for hoarding digital content. Apart from this, the gadget has a microSD card slot for expanding the storage further by up to 64GB.
It is based on the Windows Phone 8 platform and draws power from a battery of 1430mAh capacity. Prospective users can expect the 4G-enabled device to cough up juice for talk time of about 14.8 hours or 9.8 hours in 2G and 3G modes, respectively. Its maximum 3G standby time is of around 360 hours.

As we already said, the Lumia 520 will be up for sale for an off-contract price of $99.99.
