It’s been a bit of a wait, but the main specifications for the Asus PadFone X which is headed to AT&T in the US have finally been revealed. The smartphone-tablet combo is the first in the series to officially arrive stateside and it’s a bit different compared to the international models.
Unlike the Infinity that’s a 5-inch smartphone and a 10.1-inch slate, the Asus PadFone X has a smaller tablet dock of 9 inches. The resolutions, however, are still the same – 1920 x 1080p for the handsets and 1920 x 1200p for the docks. The device will come with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and since it’s taking flight exclusively through AT&T, LTE-A connectivity will also be onboard.
AT&T states that the PadFone X will come with a quad core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor. The RAM will be 2GB and two storage models will be offered, 16GB and 32GB, with microSD card support. On the smartphone, you’ll have a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front snapper, while the tablet dock dons a 1MP webcam. Where the design is concerned, the device sports a brushed metal frame and the rear has been given a coating of soft-touch paint.
