Dell has disclosed that the XPS 10 running Windows RT is available in the US with AT&T-friendly 4G LTE support at a $100 surplus price. The Wi-Fi only version went official last year along with the XPS 12 convertible.
Cellular connectivity is achieved through the inclusion of Qualcomm Gobi modems. The company states that the AT&T Dell XPS 10 4G LTE is capable of delivering up to 10 times the speed of 3G. Additionally, activating a data plan with the carrier is simple. With the AllAccess app pre-installed, users can choose an internet scheme that well suits their needs.
The OS employed here is tablet specific and designed for ARM based chipsets. The platform has over 60,000 dedicated applications in its ecosystem with Office 2013 RT pre-loaded. The Dell XPS 10 comes with a 1.5GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 SOC, unlike the Surface RT that packs in a quad core Tegra 3 CPU. Where memory is concerned, there’s no mention of how much RAM the device packs in, but we assume it would be 2GB since that’s pretty much standard for RT tablets.
In terms of dimensions, the slab measures 177.3mm x 274.7mm x 9.2mm and is design with flexible materials to deliver a secure grip. This version comes with 64GB of flash storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. With the 2-cell Li-ion battery, users can expect up to 10 hours and 30 minutes of activity. And when docked onto the optional mobile keyboard, the achievable usage is extended to over 18 hours. The accessory tags along various components that deliver a laptop-like experience. They include a full-sized keyboard, a touchpad, a host of ports, stereo speakers and more.
To purchase the Dell XPS 10 with LTE, potential buyers will have to select the 64GB AT&T option from the processor and storage tab in the customize and buy menu. The device is retailing for $599.99 and above, while the keyboard dock bundle can be picked up for a starting amount of $749.99.
