AT&T BlackBerry Q10

AT&T has finally put the highly anticipated BlackBerry Q10 up for pre-order, while carriers such as Verizon and T-Mobile have already started to sell the QWERTY smartphone in the US. There’s still no confirmation as to when Sprint plans on opening bookings for the BlackBerry device or even make it available for purchase.

For those who are new to this handset, the AT&T BlackBerry Q10 is the first in the BB10 series to come with a physical QWERTY keyboard, the second being the budget friendly Q5 which is scheduled to hit stores sometime next month. Starting off with the design, the device is slightly on the bulky side measuring 0.40 inches thick and it tips the scales at 4.9 ounces. The front features a 3.1-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 720 x 720p resolution and 330ppi, which occupies the upper half and a QWERTY keyboard that can be found just below.


Also accompanying the display is a 2MP webcam with 720p recording and stabilization. Flip over to the rear, the smartphone houses an 8MP AF camera with LED flash. On the inside, users will find a dual core Qualcomm MSM8960 Krait processor which is from the Snapdragon S4 family, powering up the handset with a clock speed of 1.5GHz. There’s also 2GB of RAM for smooth operations and 16GB of internal memory for hoarding needs. Up to 64GB more can be thrown in via the microSD card slot.

Powered by the latest BB10 OS, the BlackBerry Q10 comes with the Flow interface that allows users to complete tasks swiftly. Then there’s the Hub which let’s owners access their conversations from any screen. Other enhancements and features include BBM Video, Balance and more. There’s a 2100mAh battery onboard, capable of delivering up to 13 hours of talktime or around 15.3 days of standby.

The Q10 can be pre-ordered through AT&T for $199.99 with a 2-year contract and qualifying voice as well as data plans. The device is also available for a price of $449.99 with a 1-year agreement or for $584.99 with a month-to-month subscription. There’s no release date disclosed as yet.
