Asus ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad 8.0 also enter India with Android Lollipop onboard

Asus wants to take the Indian market by storm; why else will it launch a set of four smartphones and a duo of ZenPad tablets, all on one day at a massive event in the country’s capital. The year ahead is full of challenges due to heavy competition; so it’ll be interesting to see how these products perform.

For now let us turn our attention towards the new Asus ZenPad 7.0 and 8.0 tablets which the company has launched in India. These Android 5.0 Lollipop-running devices happen to feature affordable price tags, with the 7.0 model starting at Rs 11999 and the 8.0 variant starting at Rs 14999.

Both these products happen to offer voice calling support, and while the smaller one among the two features 3G support, the larger tablet offers 4G connectivity as well. They are highlighted by the DTS-HD Premium Sound technology which has been integrated into them.

Asus ZenPad 7.0

The Asus ZenPad 7.0 kicks in a 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel monitor and a 64-bit quad core Intel Atom x3-C3230 processor. 8GB or 16GB worth of storage is available, but a microSD card slot ensures that there’s support for 128GB of more space.

This particular tablet exists in the form of 1GB and 2GB RAM options as well. The one with the lesser amount of memory sports a 5MP rear snapper and a 0.3MP front camera, whereas the one with 2GB of RAM goes for an 8MP rear unit and a 2MP selfie shooter.

Asus ZenPad 8.0

Buyers of the Asus ZenPad 8.0 will have a choice between the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 and the octa core Snapdragon 615 processors. Here too, 1GB and 2GB RAM options, and 8GB and 16GB storage choices are applicable. However, the camera setup remains the same, with a 5MP rear unit and a 2MP front one. Of course, this tablet bears an 8-inch 1280 x 800 pixel display.

The exact availability details of the Asus ZenPad 7.0 and ZenPad 8.0 are still to be revealed by the company.
