Asus has just started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the ZenFone Zoom and the ZenFone Selfie. The two devices have been sitting on the Lollipop version since a pretty long time, and owners will be pleased to know that they are finally being updated now.
Apart from the fact that the Asus ZenFone Zoom and ZenFone Selfie are getting Marshmallow, what’s interesting is that there is a sizeable amount bloat-removal going on in this upgrade. The company it seems has paid heed to the complaints of useless apps being preloaded into its handsets.
It has hence decided to remove apps like Asus Email, Asus Calendar, Asus Messaging and replace them with Google’s apps for the same purpose. And the ZenFone Zoom is also being granted preloaded Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram apps.
A quick look at the specs of the Asus ZenFone Zoom:
– Display: 5.5-inch, 1080p full HD
– OS: Android 5.0 Lollipop-based ZenUI 2.0

– Weight: 185g

Equipped with a 5.5-inch display, the ZenFone Zoom gets its name from a 3x optical zoom lens which accompanies its camera. During our time with it, we found out that although the zooming aspect works in favor of this device, its lackluster 13MP sensor takes its photography experience down many notches.
As for the ZenFone Selfie it comes with a 13MP front camera as its main selling point. This phone too houses a 5.5-inch display and a 13MP rear camera.
With the OTAs now live, you should get the download notification for the Marshmallow update on your Asus ZenFone Zoom and ZenFone Selfie devices any moment.
