Asus ZenFone smartphones will have successors, and why shouldn’t they?

The Asus ZenFone range, ever since its launch earlier this year, has been selling a decent amount of units wherever it is being made available. Take for instance its performance in India where it is challenging the likes of the Moto G, the Moto E and other handsets in three different categories with its low-cost offerings.

The ZenFone range is available in the form of three handsets bearing 4-inch, 5-inch and 6-inch displays onboard. And Asus is so happy with its performance that it is busy at work prepping up a successive series to it.

A new report form Focus Taiwan, the CEO of the company, Jerry Shen has mentioned that new ZenFone devices will be unveiled by the company next January. It’s hence safe to assume that like their predecessors, these fresh smartphones too will make their debuts at the CES gathering in Las Vegas.

In terms of upgrades, while updated specifications are sure to form part of their offerings, some changes to their design philosophy and their user interface are also expected. Hardware-wise the focus will be on upgrading their camera capabilities, memory and battery life.

Shen has not said anything about how many ZenFone models will be making their way out next year. Also, there’s no word on whether Asus will stick to the Intel Atom processors that have been granted to the current range, or whether it will look for other options.

We hope to gather more information about the new Asus ZenFone range in the months to come. For now, this trio of smartphones is available in around 10 countries, including India where it is being sold exclusively by Flipkart.
