At the ongoing Computex event in Taiwan, Asus has gone ahead and unveiled a wide range of new products, top among them being the long-rumored ZenFone Selfie smartphone, the new ZenPad S 8.0 tablet and the ZenWatch 2 smartwatch. Pricing details of these devices remain a mystery, but their main hardware information has indeed been outed by the company.
ZenFone Selfie
This new handset boasts of 13MP rear and front cameras that are both accompanied by two-tone flash modules. The Asus ZenFone Selfie’s rear snapper features an f/2.0 aperture opening, while it even bears fast and low-light-friendly laser autofocus. The front shooter on the other hand, goes for an f/2.2 aperture and a wide 88-degree field of view.
Just like the top-end ZenFone 2 range, this device carries onboard a 5.5-inch 1080p full HD display. However, instead of an Intel processor, it goes for the octa core Snapdragon 615 CPU. It will be offered with 2GB or 4GB of RAM.
ZenWatch 2
The new Asus ZenWatch 2 will be offered in two sizes, having become the first Android Wear gadget to take this route. 22mm and 18mm straps are the two choices users can go for. There’s a new button on the right side as well.
Asus has blessed the fresh gadget with an optional Chargeback power pack for additional juice. Moreover, it has also equipped it with an AMOLED screen bearing a piece of 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 and an unnamed Qualcomm processor. It’s IP67 rated for durability and comes with a range of software goodies.
ZenPad S 8.0
The new tablets from the Taiwanese company are from the ZenPad range that will replace the MeMO Pad lineup. There are 7-inch, 8-icnh and 10.1-inch models, but details are scant about the last one. The other two house quad core 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 CPUs, 4GB RAMs and 2048 x 1536 pixel displays.
These slates carry onboard 5MP front and 8MP rear cameras, and they even grab USB Type C connectors and styluses. Despite all these advanced components, they grab a thickness of just 6.6mm.
The price and availability information of the Asus ZenFone Selfie smartphone, the ZenPad S 8.0 tablet and the ZenWatch 2 smartwatch is expected to be revealed soon.
