Asus has officially launched its ZenFone 4 series in India, starting out with the ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro. It’s also added a new variant of the former to the mix.
To recall, Asus had announced 6 new ZenFone 4 handsets back in August this year. As can be guessed by its names, the ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZB553KL), ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL), and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro target selfie lovers. The company touts that the last has the most advanced front-facing cameras in the world.
That’s because the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes equipped with dual 24MP DuoPixel + 5MP wide-angle snappers up front. A Sony IMX362 dual-pixel image sensor ensures that the lens receives twice the number of light-capturing photodiodes than standard sensors of the same resolution.

This is supposed to guarantee 2x brighter low-light selfies. Meanwhile, the 120-degree wide-angle shooter allows for more people to fit into the frame. There’s also support for 4K UHD video recording. As for the rear camera, it boasts of a 16MP resolution and a dual-LED flash unit.
Moving on to the ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL) and ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL), the variants pack the same set of specs for the most part. The key exception to this is the selfie setup. The former gets a single 13MP lens, while the latter carries a 20MP + 8MP combination.
