A fresh set of leaks have given us our first good look at the upcoming Asus ZenFone 3 series. The brand is planning to announce the range at Computex 2016, but it looks like we won’t have to wait till then to know more about it.
The images of the Asus lineup are sourced from Red Dot 21’s website. According to the site’s profile on the ZenFone 3, the smartphone has been layered with 2.5D glass on both sides and encased within an aluminum frame. It supports USB Type-C cables and allows users to unlock the phone via a fingerprint scanner located on the rear surface of the handset.
The ZenFone 3 is further set to sport an LED flash unit on its front panel for selfies in low-light environments. There’s a dual-LED flash unit on the device’s back as well. Its rear camera has been boxed into a square-shaped enclosure and notably offers laser autofocus. The phone will be sold in black, gold and white colors.
Unfortunately, in-depth specifications of the phone have not been listed on the page. Neither has its price been revealed. The situation is even more dire in the case of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, with no technical details given at all. The only feature which can be gleaned from its profile is its all-metal design.
Asus has played a heavy emphasis on this, claiming that the handset is the only truly metallic phone is the world, with no plastic antenna lines or decorations found on its body. It’s also fitted it with a physical home button which presumably doubles up as a fingerprint sensor.
Like we said above, the Asus ZenFone 3 series will make its debut at Computex 2016 which takes place by the end of May. We’ll fill you in on more details once the lineup goes official.
